      To start I had a 20-30 min phone call with a recruiter who went over the role and discussed qualifications. I thought the person was quite friendly and did a good job breaking down the role and what they thought was important for it. Was told at the end of the call I would be moving on to the next steps which was a 45-minute phone call with the regional sales manager, and that a role play would be included. They give you a solid amount of articles to review and prep for the role play, which is appreciated. The call with the sales manager was also pretty engaging and was asked a lot of questions about my experience and some situational questions. They definitely want people who have client facing experience. Just do your research on articles and other industry related topics and you will be fine in the role play. As stated you are talking with someone and trying to convince them of the benefits of using doordash. There will be some pushback but the objections are not challenging. So this is where things were a little odd for me. I got off the call and believed I would advance to next steps. I mean, I was told without asking that I did really well on the roleplay and being that I had both client facing closing experience as well as a tech background I thought there would be continued dialogue. There were no questions I left unanswered and my replies were met with positive remarks throughout the call. I was told "we talked with the team and do not think you are a perfect fit". For me my problem is...what team? I spoke with 2 people (1recruiter) and it sounds like I had no chance to talk with the people who decided to not go with me. The people were all very kind and informative, and I enjoyed learning about the role. But if you feel I am not a fit you shouldn't be giving such positive feedback, you should be challenging my qualifications. I did email asking for some advice on how to better my prospects for future opportunities but got no reply. Also, everything was done over the phone as it was for a remote position where there was no office.

      The recruiter/team lead reached out to me on LinkedIn. I scheduled time and they no showed me without even an apology email. Just a rescheduled gcal event. Then when he finally showed up days later, he asked why I applied for the role (I didn’t). Proceeded to tell me basically how bad they were doing in terms of market share in nyc (lowest out of the apps). Then he asked why I applied years ago. I didn’t, it was the same situation. A recruiter reached out and I interviewed. Funny thing- when I interviewed originally in 2017 they left me in a conference room and went home. Yes, really. At least this time around I heard back from them!

      Applied online, got a HR email to schedule a call. It's about less than 20 minutes. Same night got an email from another HR to schedule 2 45 minute phone calls with hiring managers, which are a role play and behavioural/culture fit questions.

What is the cost breakdown for a store owner (food cost, labor cost, rent) and how does that apply to DoorDash's business model? How many outreaches do you make in a typical week? What are three startups you are excited about? How do you make a sandwich? What percentage of restaurants offer take out services? What is something you believe in that others don't?
