      Solicitud

Solicité el puesto por otro medio. El proceso duró 1 día. Acudí a una entrevista en Dollar General (Dallas, TX)

      Entrevista

I went to a small job fair in a small town located a few miles from the store. I was the last to interview. The young lady DIDN'T INTERVIEW me. She asked me to hold on because she thought there was another store that needed another employee. She came back with the address and asked if it was too far for my drive. I needed the work and said it was fine. She gave me paperwork with the store's address, information about completing my information online and a few other papers about Dollar General. She said I needed to login to the DGeneral website that evening in order to have everything complete and ready in order to take my drug screen and background check. If I didn't finish it right away, the drug screen and background check results wouldn't be back in time to start working my 1st day. Unfortunately, it didn't work. The store manager was upset that he didn't have the opportunity to hire somebody he wanted and treated me very badly the entire time I worked there. Somehow, every employee I worked with disrespected me and wouldn't do anything they needed to complete in time for me to finish my shift in time. He used it against me, gave me bad shifts. I had to stay overnight to oversee some floor cleaners. I sat in the office the entire night, like I was supposed to but it wasn't enough. He watched me on video from his home and got upset that I took advantage of the time to complete required online training (that he refused to tell me about). So... The interview ended up being the worst thing for me. Eventually he cut my hours then blamed me for missing money the day I quit. (He accused a girl of stealing a little under a thousand dollars the day she left- the day I started so I didn't worry about his accusations. I doubt I'll ever go to a job fair or interview with the wrong person again. I WILL NEVER work for DGeneral again and wish people would stop shopping there. After speaking to other store's employees, it seems management is horrible everywhere. Well. At least in Texas. Thanks for reading. I'm sure your interview will be better. I can't imagine any interview to be difficult at the retail stores. As long as they don't ask about age, religion, sexual preferences, etc. you shouldn't be rattled. I mean I was an assistant manager without having ANY retail experience or managerial experience. The job fair interviewer told me to just lie and say I did.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

Asked to lie and say I had managerial AND retail experience. I had neither.
