I sent my CV via email along with a cover letter and pretty soon after I received a call saying I was being invited to an interview as ramp agent, I explained to the person I was speaking to that the initial application was for dispatch and then a guy in the background told her that this one was in fact dispatch and not ramp agent. So I agreed to come for an interview and I was emailed the details which said for the role of aircraft dispatch. I attended the interview at Manchester Terminal One and everything interview wise I'd say went pretty well, the questions were just ten general competency based question. I was asked to describe the role which I was applying for so I did so. I was asked why I described the role of a dispatcher so I said that that's what I applied for, the phone call said and what the email said. I continued with the interview a bit confused really as to what had happened. In terms of the interview it's self as long as you have customer service experience the answering shouldn't be to hard, try looking up competency based questions before your interview. I received a phone call the next day now offering the position PSA due to my customer service experience. I had been offered the dispatch position with a different company the same morning so declined the offer. I'd put it down to lack of experience if it had not been for the offer for the same job at a different handling agent. From what I was told when I asked about career progression I can only assume that training lacks in the business. Overall it was a bad experience, I'm not sure if the same applies to the recruitment at their other airports but it seemed so disorganised.
