I applied at monster.com and I heard back within the first week. They scheduled me for an interview for the following week. I was in a room with two girls waiting and one girl was in another room being interviewed. I was the last to go in and was greeted by two managers of the store. They asked me a number of questions and at the end escorted me out of the room and had me wait. A few minutes passed and they came out asking if I could come in next week to meet with the overall manager (they did not ask this to the other girls, only me). The next week the overall manager asked me two or three questions similar to the first interview, then he offered me the job right then and there.

What are the current fashion trends that affect you directly?
Standard interview, quite short (20 minutes) for the first round. Asked about past experience, sales skills, expected pay, and my future goals at the company. Interviewers were very nice and welcoming, made the experience much less intimidating!
Not sure what to expect. When I spoke to the manager it felt very condescending and off putting. The interview was fine but they exaggerated the amount of commission associates can make and didn’t even give me a chance to agree to a job offer just assumed that I would take it. I don’t have very high hopes about how it will be working there. When I came in for my interview one associate didn’t even greet me like she did the last customer and the energy of the atmosphere just felt super dull and soulless. I need this job on my resume as a fashion business student for internships so I’ll push through but not at all optimistic about the work environment.
