We really take this kind of feedback to heart because we work hard to make sure our candidates feel valued and respected throughout our process. Searching for a new role is TOUGH. We empathize – everyone on our team has been there at some point, including our hiring team.
We cannot apologize enough for the misunderstanding during the in-person interview and the grief it has caused. Our hiring manager was reiterating the next step in our process. (We received a lot of applications for this position, and we like to set realistic expectations at each stage of the process about the process and how/when we plan to follow up.)
I am truly saddened that you believe you wasted a great deal of time waiting for a follow-up. We had so many wonderful applicants (you included), and we wanted to be sure we took the time to make the best decision for all.
