About a week after dropping off my application and cover letter in person, I was called for an interview. I was interviewed for 1 1/2 hours by the head of the children's department and the library's assistant director. They were mostly interested in learning about my past job experiences and my experience in library programs. I also had to present a 10-15 minute preschool story time, which I was told about ahead of time. The interview was low-key and the interviewers were friendly. I thought that the interview went well but when I didn't get a phone call after a week or so, I assumed that the position was offered to someone else. Sure enough, I finally did get the "we hired someone else" letter.
