      Entrevista de QA Analyst

      23 jul 2019
      Candidato de entrevista anónimo
      Alpharetta, GA
      Sin oferta
      Experiencia negativa
      Entrevista difícil

      Solicitud

Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 6 días. Acudí a una entrevista en Deposco (Alpharetta, GA) en jul 2019

      Entrevista

Phone screen where standard technical questions are asked. They do grill you a bit to get a good understanding of your experience. Once that is complete, they bring you in for the in person where the questions are similar and you are also grilled a bit more. They even asked me to present a bit of my experience on the whiteboard. After getting an email that the interview went well, I get the impression that I will likely get an offer after meeting with the CEO. The recruiter was a real nice guy, very friendly. However, he does not prepare you for the style the CEO will be interviewing you with. I walk into the interview and he asks me "What is your life story?" I am immediately taken back by this question. I mean it is 2019, why is this being asked in an interview? I answer it as best as I can but then he says "You are a man of few words and I want to know what makes you, you?" At this point I am a bit annoyed. These are personal questions. Ask me questions related to my job and skills, why am I being interrogated by how I answer your personal questions? It was almost like my life story sounded like "BS" to him so he wanted me to open up more. I then open up some more. At this point he starts talking about the Steve Jobs rule of managing and how you hire people to tell you what to do. Or you hire Chefs and not Bakers. I didn't come to hear a lecture on running a startup. I came to answer questions pertaining to the job. Every time I talked about my job experience, he did not want to hear it. Probably because he is not very tech savvy or is ignorant as to what the importance of a QA Analyst entails. I asked a question about management style, then he destroys my questions saying he believes in "Leaders" only. The only intent behind the question was to determine whether anyone believes in micro managing. He comes across as unprofessional and arrogant (quite full of himself) If you get to that stage of the interview, be prepared for out of left field questions.

      Pregunta 1

What is your life story? What makes you who you are? Takes a tidbit from you life story and asks, how did that make you who you are? Asks questions about work history.

Phone screen by recruiter and they will send you some questionnaire , after a week they will schedule onsite interview . HR is very friendly and professional , other interviewers which is a Asian , they behave as if they are the CEO of the company it is very un professional and unbelievable when a person refuse to answer the question , usually people will skip to next , it is so ridiculous to put pressure and trying to get answer as if they as paid for the interview . Please go don't go for this kind of company where they don't value your time .

All non sense questions <. A true interviewer will never question like these , All that they should find whether this person is capable of doing the job .

On applying online, got an email for 1 hr technical screen via zoom. There were 2 interviewers on the interview, one is a director for quality management and other was a sr. qa I believe. Started off by discussing about my work experience. They interrupted me saying that I descriping the overall qa process but they are not getting clear picture of what I exactly test. I explained as well as I could about what applications I test at my current job but they got never satisfied. Negative comments on everything I spoke. When I spoke about the challenging project they asked me describe, they replied that doesn't sound challenging to them. At a point I was totally turned off by their attitude. I wonder if they seriously looking to hire at all. They need someone more than QA, not sure what.
