The scheduling and communication was very prompt, efficient and polite. All three rounds were incredibly formal, stuffy, and impersonal. Every round was with a large panel in an oversized board room and provided little opportunity to get to know the organization, its culture, and what it is really like to work there. That age old adage of “you’re interviewing them too” really has no truth for the way they handle the hiring process. Even as a finalist, there was no opportunity to meet one on one or in a small group environment to get a better sense of the leadership and management style. In addition, the final two rounds required 15 to 25 minute presentations that required extensive research and preparation with approximately 72 hour turnaround. As someone who is already gainfully employed in a full time position elsewhere, these seemed a little intense and demanding. I get the sense that the people in charge are actually very kind and caring, but the HR robotic vibe was very off putting to say the least.
