      Received a call from the HR representative (who was great) the same day that I applied for the job. We scheduled a phone interview and that went really, really well. She thought I would be a wonderful fit for the position and moved me on to the next round. The next round was AWFUL. They use an automated interview system called Spark Interview. You have to video record yourself answering questions like "what super hero or super power do you have", and they are timed responses. You only have 2 takes to do the video. For a company that is trying to fight for equality and being inclusive, I found it really surprising that they chose to use such an impersonal method for interviewing. To me, this just said that they didn't respect me or my time enough as a candidate to have a 1:1 conversation, whether on zoom or the phone, for 30 minutes. After they reviewed my video responses, where I had to address vague job description questions and my experience in 2 minutes or less while staring at myself, I got a generic email from the Manager of the position saying they were not moving forward with me. How unfortunate to base your hiring solely off of those videos. You're going to miss out on some really great candidates.

      Extremely chaotic and confusing--after the hiring manager left a message asking for an interview it took ten days and five return calls to actually speak to her. Then, around an hour after we organized a time to speak about the position the following day, I received a BCC "thank you for your interest" email. There was no call or follow-up from the HR contact whatsoever. Advice: Return the call from people you've reached out to--especially after they've left you messages. Don't cancel interviews via bcc emails after arranging a time to speak.
