I was sent an overwhelming amount of material by the recruiter, and the initial contact felt more like an onboarding package than an interview request. I spent a lot of time preparing for the interview, but it turns out in the end the hiring manager for the role didn't know what they actually wanted. After talking to me and being well-aware of my education level and credentials, they decided they were "looking for someone with more experience" and were going to "give more advanced requirements to the role."
My best advice is "don't get too excited".
