Given all the negative attention DISH has received in the media and on Glassdoor, I'll admit I was skeptical about even applying here. However, I have nothing nothing to say about anyone I encountered throughout my entire interview process. The company's poor reputation was the first thing they brought up in the interviews before I even had a chance to ask about it. They explained why they believed certain people were unhappy and how the culture was changing to improve employee satisfaction. Truth be told, the HR representative was fantastic and incredibly helpful, the digital marketing team was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable, and overall it seemed like a position that would provide a fast track for professional growth. The culture certainly isn't for everyone, but DISH gave me the impression it's the perfect place for young, driven professionals who want to work hard, learn a lot, and move up the ranks quickly.
One detail that could be a drawback is all the tests they had me take. It really seemed excessive. I took several online before I was even brought onsite for in-person interviews. After the onsite interviews, they had me go into an examination room and take two additional tests, which took approximately 1 hour 30 minutes total to complete. Evidently, I did well enough for them to extend an offer, but I generally excel on standardized tests. Those who don't test well might be overlooked despite excellent qualifications.
