It was literally the worst interview experience I’ve ever had in my life. What started out as normal, with an email from a recruiter, a panel interview, a performance task, and multiple rounds of one-on-ones, turned into a circus. I was told by the final interviewer that I’d be a better fit for a position that hadn’t yet been listed and that my experience would be much better placed there. I waited a few weeks for them to reach out, had the interview with the hiring manager, only to find that I was starting the interview process all over again, and given yet another performance task that took four hours…like the previous one. They literally managed to get 8 hours of free work out of me, continuously gave me the run around, sent me through 10 rounds of interviews, sold me on not one but TWO positions, and then sent me and email stating they went with someone else for BOTH positions.

The interview process included an initial phone screening with the director of the department, followed by a simple writing assignment, and finally two final interviews via Zoom. The final interviews took place with the department manager and a vice president. Everyone I met with was really nice and seemed to care mostly about understanding me as a person and how I operate professionally.
