Brief, last-minute phone screen with the "Experienced Talent Acquisition Manager, Internal Services", during which the person could not provide an expected salary range and deferred to a conversation with the hiring manager.
Over a week later, received a "2nd Crowe Phone Interview Request" for a "one-hour phone interview with the team", another week later.
Second interview - no "team" and not even the Hiring Manager, as that person was OOO on vacation for a week.
Instead it was that person's manager, the Global Services People and Client Support Leader.
That person asked a number of very challenging questions, well beyond reasonable expectations for an administrative role.
This person could not advise on range of compensation either.
It also turns out it was an hourly position, not salaried, which was not indicated in any fashion until this point.
Good news is, it went well...
Same-day follow-up from the "Experienced Talent Acquisition Manager, Internal Services" asking me to take a couple skills assessments.
Prior to committing the time, I once again asked for a salary range.
Having already provided mine, a range separated by $30k mind you, the person asked me for more specific information.
Considering I was entirely transparent and successfully interviewed with a member of Leadership, the lack of transparency from this employer was simply embarrassing for them.
Clearly they are trying to underpay overqualified candidates.
I declined to pursue the position at that point.
