Emailed the professor overseeing the project and met on Zoom to discuss my experience and interests. Later I was selected as one of the cohort for the summer to work on the project.
2 fit interviews: one video call of 30 minutes with the principal investigator, then one video call of 30 minutes with a PhD student.
They were very friendly.
Told me to call the previous intern to check if I would like the project he was working on.
