Grossly unprofessional | I was contacted by the recruiter about the opportunity on Mar 11th on LinkedIn and asked if I was interested. I replied same day, and followed up on the 12th and 18th before being given a response by the recruiter, who blamed that they were in training all week.
We set up a phone screen for Mar 23rd. during the phone screen, I was not referred to an application, but instead asked to complete a poorly designed word and excel assessment that hasn't been updated in 2022. The task was to proof-read a word assessment, a task made obsolete by AI, and to make minor formatting edits to an existing excel table. The instructions, as written, if taken literally, would have resulted in deleting the entire table. Mind you, they have my resume, and see that I've completed a college degree, These are skills that are essentially required for graduating college in the last 20 years, I sent the assessment back the same night, and was told the files were never received. okay, I resend the files, and received no new correspondence. It is then 2 weeks before I followed up again, and pointed out that I never received confirmation that the assessment was even received, or any feedback regarding if my submission was adequate. The recruiter responded to let me know that she hand only just sent resumes to the HM. 10 days later, I'm told that they had an internal referral that they were in late stage with, meaning that they never actually intended to hire externally at all.
