They really wanted Expat who holds passport who can travel without getting visas as opposed to Chinese employee who needs to apply visa all the time before traveling. They are more concerned with how long you can work for them because of their past high turn over rate. In terms of expertise, there are barely none. They do require English skills for communications and reporting.
