I had a phone interview with the recruiting manager and everything seemed great. I was very wary of the negative reviews on Glassdoor but the recruiting manager seemed very honest and transparent. We went over expectations and they were very in-line with the job description posted. on LinkedIn. I emphasized how I was only interested in the position if it was remote and she said the company had decided to turn the position into a remote position to find better candidates. We went over my salary expectations - again very in line with what I had wanted. Then finally, we went over my apex experience, which was listed in the job description as "preferred". The job description had indicated that this position was 90% admin-driven and that's what it sounded like from talking to the recruiter. If I had known this was all false, I wouldn't have wasted my time speaking with the hiring manager. He quizzed my lightning migration experience and my apex experience. At the end of it, he told me he was concerned that I didn't have enough apex experience to help them migrate the data from their new cloud platform to salesforce. When I emphasized again that I was interested in the position because it was remote, he told me he wanted an in-person hire. The job posting is not an accurate description of the candidate they are looking for. It was a waste of my time and the hiring manager's time. They need to communicate internally and decide on what it is they want in a candidate. They are also misleading the hire as looking for a Salesforce Admin when really, they need to hire a Salesforce Developer for the type of projects they have lined up. They are trying to low-ball the salary for the experience they are looking for. I would be extremely surprised if they someone in the San Diego area willing to do development work for an average Admin salary with average benefits. I should have been wary based on the Glassdoor reviews. They company is skeevy and has already lied before they've hired the person. BEWARE. Even if I was offered the position, I would not have taken it. They are trying to pay someone $30-50k less than the position is worth.
