Recruiter was unprofessional, rude, and did not know anything about the role or the team. I asked standard questions (tell me more about the role specifics, tell me about the team) to try to get an understanding of the day-to-day, team structure, and mid- to long- term goals for the team. The recruiter kept saying it was “a typical FP&A role” (which could mean anything), how he had never worked with the team so could not tell me anything about them, and then proceeded to get audibly upset at me for applying to the role since “I clearly wanted to do specific things and this is a generic role where you’ll do everything.” Again - extremely vague wording, kept repeating things that were on the role description and not able to give additional insights, and seemed like he actually knew nothing about the role or what the team is looking for. His tone and verbiage were very off-putting and rude. I’d recommend the company train recruiters to learn about the role and specifically the teams they are hiring for, and also treat candidates with more respect.
