I was brought into the office and given an on site tour. I got to see some of the product and the large amount of art the owner collects. Within a week they had called me with an offer. It was a fairly straightforward interview. However, in hindsight, they do an incredible job of embellishing the truth. They are very up front about the pros and cons of working in a small company and that you will be responsible for many tasks, but they make it feel like that's fairly common place. In reality, they are largely glossing over just how dysfunctional and toxic this work environment is. It's not just that the CEO is hands on, it's that the CEO doesn't allow the company to function without him. It's not that they move quickly, it's that you will be given a new product idea hours before it needs to go to production for a show you weren't told about. What I'm saying is that if you do have an interview at this company, take everything with a large dose of salt. Although they are very polite and accomodating, they aren't being as honest as they seem and I felt tricked into taking the job when I realized how bad it really was.
