Entrevista
I was reached out to by a recruiter via LinkedIn and encouraged to apply, so I did. I went through several rounds of online interviews and talked to about 4 people. After the 4th interview, I received an email by the initial recruiter saying they were receiving great feedback and that the marketing lead was flying in from Chicago the following Friday for meet and greets. He then said he would reach out to me for information as it got closer. By Wednesday of that week, I still had not heard anything and reached out in case I had missed any emails... only immediately to receive a response saying that the position had already been offered to somebody else. I thought this was very unprofessional as all of their emails had lead me to believe I was still in good standing for the position and that I was about to move onto the next phase when they already hired someone and didn't even bother to inform me when it happened-- I had to reach out the THEM to find out first. I was really displeased about the lack of communication and the amount of time and effort that I had placed into the hiring process only to not even be informed or sent a formal rejection letter when the position was filled.

Very smooth process from initial phone call with talent acquisition to video interviews with the SVP. I felt at ease with the conversational interview, but great insightful questions were asked,

Consisted of phone screening, zoom interviews, take-home assignment, and final on-site interviews. Many rounds, spoke with 6 people. Things were okay until the offer/negotiation stage.
Upon viewing the offer, I noticed the salary was below my discussed range, which was acknowledged by the recruiter during the initial screening that it'd be met. I reminded him of that conversation and got approved for a slight bump to meet my minimum.
Later, after more market research and factoring in other finances like relocating closer to the office location, I sent an email to the manager in an attempt to renegotiate. I waited a day for a reply but no response. Instead, I received an abrupt message the next day from the recruiter stating they will look for other candidates.. I then reached out to communicate but their attitude towards this was firm.
Considering all the time and effort invested, the way they ended it was really unprofessional. Had I received a reply or any communication beforehand, I would've understood and accepted the offer. I was honestly excited to join Cengage and even encouraged others to apply, but the way they've treated this was a huge disappointment and really made me question their professionalism.
