Caterpillar UK isn’t interested in international students from UK universities, it doesn’t matter how smart they are. Most of these companies just take one or two internationals who have stayed long enough to have UK citizenship, take a few photos for their website and tag it diversity, and sadly Caterpillar doesn’t seem to be different. Don’t bother applying if you’re an international student, you’ll likely be wasting your time and possibly money. It’s a really direct initial application, followed by a video interview, then an assessment centre. However, you’ll be asked to prove that you don’t need sponsorship if you make it past the video interview and even though you’ll all be allowed none of you internationals will make it through.

Online Application
You begin by submitting an application through the official Caterpillar careers portal with your CV, education details, and sometimes a cover letter or competency-based questions.
2. Online Assessments & Video Interview
If your application passes initial screening, you’ll usually be invited to complete online assessments, which can include personality, situational judgement, and numerical or cognitive tests.
Following this, there is often a pre-recorded video interview stage. You’ll receive questions (typically behavioural or competency-based, often STAR-style) which you record answers to within a set time. Some schemes give you a week to complete this.
