Recruiter reached out to me with details of the position. Initially I said no to the interview process because the pay range was too low. The recruiter came back and said they could offer $10k more because they really liked the experience on my résumé. Even though the offer was below market value, I agreed to the process thinking this effort meant this could be a really good fit. I went through 2-3 rounds of conversational technical and behavioral interviews, all very enjoyable and relatively easy. I was surprisingly hit with a rejection email, and when I asked what happened, I was told I didn’t have the right experience. Felt like a complete waste of time after 1. They liked me so much based on my résumé that detailed my experience 2. Having really good interviews where I provided solid answers to their questions assessing my skills.
