      Entrevista

      The hiring process was fairly straight forward. There was a phone screening with an HR recruiter, followed by a quick - and I mean really quick - phone screening with hiring manager. I guess the phone screening is a formality and your resume gets you the in-person interview - provided you speak well. After the phone screening, I was invited on-site to interview with 5 attorneys for 30 minutes each. These in-person interviews really focused on experience and whether you fit into the culture. It was not stressful or challenging and was conversational in nature. After the in-person interview I received no communication for several months and then was advised I did not receive the job due to an internal promotion, which is respectable. However, I would have liked to know sooner and I hope I was not invited on-site to fulfill HR policies of interviewing multiple individuals. The final note is that the pay for counsel at Cardinal is not aligned with comparable Fortune 100 companies so be prepared for shock when you tell them your salary expectations and they tell you the pay band for the position. If you make middle six-figures you may be disappointed. This may have factored into the hiring decision as well based on the drastic pay cut I would need to take to come on board. However, Cardinal seems to have great culture with talented attorneys. The benefits package seems reasonable.
