Solicité el puesto a través de la recomendación de un empleado. Acudí a una entrevista en Canonical (Praga) en ago 2025
Entrevista
1. School performance and general questions (fill the form). Mark everything perfect to get through.
2. School performance and specific questions (written interview). Don't spend much time here, make simple answers.
3. Super simple online coding assignment, a lot of time given, async (do anytime at home).
4. Insanely simple psychometric assessment. Also async online.
5. Quality, Software Architecture and Web & UI Skills - 3 interviews with 3 people. People are nice, no technical/pointless tasks, relevant friendly talks.
6. Final meetings
Got an automated rejection. No feedback provided neither in general nor for any written/specific parts of the interview.

The whole interview process was long and tedious. It felt like they really wanted to pick smart people who genuinely resonate with their company's values. Otherwise, most people wouldn’t have the patience to go through so many rounds and invest that much time.

A written interview, an IQ Test, a Meet and greet interview, a
take-home assignment, many rounds of technical interviews, a final HR round

First phase of interviews included a lengthy written response, a technical assessment, and an aptitude test. The written response was 28 questions, asking about high school and university academic performance, previous jobs, technical experience, etc. This took a long time to write and edit. The technical portion was straightforward. It was comprised of a few general computer science multiple choice questions and then a coding assignment to create a Polish notation calculator. Lastly the aptitude test was using Thomas International. It was roughly an hour of answering repetitive puzzle-like questions involving words and shapes.
After passing the initial phase, the second phase had 3 technical interviews where you are speaking face-to-face, answering tech experience-related questions. The first interview was about web and UI skills, the second was for Linux skills, and the third for software engineering skills. I went through 2 of these interviews before I decided to withdraw. Too much of a time investment for a job that offers unimpressive pay and benefits.
