I went in and filled out an application and was told that I would be contacted within a day or two for an interview as they were in need of people. I waited for about four days and after no hearing anything I called their personnel department to ask if they were still hiring? They assured me they were and that I would be hearing back any time. I waited for another two days, meanwhile filling out applications for three other retail stores. I heard from all three stores before I heard from Cablela's. However, after interviewing with them I decided to go with them as they promised a happy and understanding work environment. Sadly, that has not been the case. I have since stayed there due to finances, but I must admit I'm always afraid that when I ask for a day off due to taking my child to the Dr., I'm going to face a week of six hours or less or negative remarks made to me by my manager.
