Depends if you apply self-initiated or in a special PhD program (DIGS-BB). Self-initated: one interview with group leader in a friendly and casual way. Theirs also the possibility to talk to the other group members in private. Usually short tour through institute/lab space.
In DIGS-BB program: several rounds of interviews, need more great references as competition is high
