      Entrevista

I was unimpressed with the hiring manager and her panel. The lady called me for an interview. She is suppose to be senior app manager. She left me a voice message with no last name and her phone number. I called back, she asked me to come in for the interview, she never emailed me the address which she said she would. I called her few days before the interview, then she gave me the address over the phone, which was wrong, she didnt tell me which buiding out of 4 unmarked rented business buildings and what suite number. I had to ask 3 security guards at each building. Luckily I still managed to arrive on time. The lady who is my hiring manager did not even shake my hand when I introduced myself, then did a light handshake with a pen in her hand. a firm handshake speaks volumes, well not here!! When we sat down, she left me in the room for 15 minutes, turns to find out the panel she was trying to gather coworkers because she never sent emails to her panel prior to the interview. She was trying to invite anyone who would be her interview panel last minute, the reason why I know this is because she left the door open I can hear everything. Then she started telling me about the work and then she says its not technical and the job posting is not correct. The job is getting data from access database and pasting into excel. The job posting was clearly looking for a server support database app manager. The recruiter did not post the right job description online. Then panel was asking me silly questions, what kind of work environment you like to work with? Would you stay late for this job? What is your organizing style? Come on! is this a secretary job or a high level position? God forbid I dont want to know what an senior app manager does, I hope its not downloading iphone apps and playing with it at work. They seemed quite impressed with my knowledge of database support. I knew more than my hiring manager, she never heard of SQL. This now makes me chuckle as I type this. At the end of the interview, I ended up interviewing them on database design etc. When I was leaving, I asked the hiring manager if she needed my references, she said thats would be great. Then I asked her for her business card, she doesnt have one, then the girl from the panel ran to her desk and got her business card. After I left, I emailed the girl a thank you letter as a courtsey.
