Entrevista
One-on-one interview with research manager. Approximately half an hour. Personable approach. Discussed market, previous employer, typical workday at CBRE, vague description of current projects and recurring responsibilities. Interview was conducted in the morning at their main office in DC. Limited presentation from previous work was given, although not solicited from them. Much of the 'in' to this interview came from an acquaintance who works with the firm.
Advice: highly professional attire, positive attitude, robust subject knowledge, and high-leveling name-dropping would be elements for success. Preexisting knowledge of how their quarterly reports are produced a major plus. CBRE would assume intimate knowledge with all required software and online tools.
The conversation was smooth and comfortable. The interviewer clearly explained the role and benefits, asked straightforward questions, and created a welcoming environment that made the interaction easy and professional throughout the interview process.
The interview touched a lot on real estate law, key terms, and specific industry knowledge. Very doable for people with an RE background but I imagine it would be difficult for those who do not have that.

The interview process was good. You start with the HR interview (online), then the department's head (online). Might take a while to hear back from them, especially if you have a lot of competition. But if they like you, you'll be directed to the country manager (f2f, for me). Be yourself and be honest.
