      Solicitud

Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en CAPSHER Technology, Inc. (College Station, TX) en may 2019

      Entrevista

After application, I got a quick phone call (about 30 min-1 hour), followed by a quick technical assessment (fairly simple, only about 30 minutes, so don't panic), and another phone interview (about an hour and a half) with an implementation lead, where we discussed the specific conditions at CAPSHER, the work process and organization, etc. It was a bit different from my previous work (I prefer to work in a ROWE, but those are hard to come by!), so we spent quite a bit of time going through the details, making sure I understood what all might be expected of me if I were to get an offer. Overall, this portion of the experience was very positive, and I met a couple of very nice people that were very willing to answer almost all of the questions I had! I was pretty nervous at the time, but the staff was friendly and as the interview continued, I felt much more comfortable. I did receive an email telling me that I was not getting an offer at first. The feedback for the reasoning was slightly confusing, to be honest, but we eventually reached a point of clarity. However, after initially being dismissed, CAPSHER continued to contact my references, and decided to reverse that decision and move forward. I then was invited to an on-site interview, where we had a small discussion and another technical question (main thing they are looking for on it is process). We further discussed a few elements about my history, had a small tour of the offices, and had lunch. The full process for the onsite took about an hour and a half (a bit more, but we had a lot of back and forth started by me). Include lunch, which was about another hour or so, and budget at least 2.5 hours for the whole thing. Overall, I liked the process. As I mentioned, there was a point where I was rejected, but then told that the decision was reversed. Like I said, eventually the feedback was eventually clear (largely a concern over personality and work style), but that was ultimately a spot that caused a bit more stress than I personally would like. I'm glad they went ahead and followed through with contacts, though it would have been nice to have that before the rejection (though that may have been on my reference, who knows?) All said, this was a positive experience in the end.
