      Solicitud

Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 1 semana. Acudí a una entrevista en CAE (Montreal, QC) en oct 2025

      Entrevista

The interview was well-rounded and covered both soft skills and technical knowledge. They started with some background questions about my experience and communication preferences, including whether I was comfortable in English or French. Some practical questions explored my experience with full-stack technologies like React, Node, SQL, and TypeScript, and how I’d approach projects without a clear scope. They asked me to explain the difference between a class and an object, as well as inheritance and polymorphism—classic OOP topics. I was also asked about React props vs. state, so basic front-end concepts came up. On the behavioral side, they wanted examples of how I manage unrealistic deadlines, team dynamics, and resolving conflict. There was a scenario about how to handle a project that has 400 hours of work with only three weeks to complete, and how I would communicate that mismatch to my lead and the team. Leadership style and working with legacy code were also discussed, along with examples from my project or work experience. They closed with questions about what I value in workplace culture, what I want to avoid, and how I manage trade-offs between quality, cost, and time. At the end, I was given a chance to ask questions myself.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

Can you tell us about your background and previous experience? Are you comfortable speaking in English or French? Which do you prefer? What technologies have you used in your full-stack projects (e.g., React, Node, SQL, TypeScript)? What do you think you'll be working on in this role based on the job posting? Can you explain the difference between a class and an object? What's the difference between inheritance and polymorphism? Can you explain the difference between props and state in React? What is your preferred technology stack and why? How do you handle projects or tasks that have unclear or unrealistic time estimates (e.g., three weeks for 400 hours of work)? What’s your approach for breaking down large tasks and planning your work? How do you work with unfamiliar or legacy code created by someone else? How do you manage conflicts or difficult teammates in group projects? What’s your leadership style—do you like to take charge, collaborate, or support others? How do you balance and communicate trade-offs between quality, cost, and time in a project? What do you value most in a work culture? What do you want to avoid? Why did you choose to apply for a web development position when you also have experience in other technical fields? Why did you choose Concordia over other universities? Do you have any questions for us? Are you open to hybrid work, and do you have a preferred working schedule?
