I had a pretty long and pleasant conversation with the hiring manager. There were several different positions available, so the aim of the interview was pretty unfocused. At the end of the call, I was told that they wanted me to proceed to the next step and provide examples of my work. However, they ghosted me after that, did not respond to follow-ups, and ultimately sent me a boilerplate rejection email, despite what I was told during the interview. It was pretty disrespectful to lie and not respond considering the time and effort that I put into the process.
