      Entrevista fácil

      Solicitud

Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Bluescape (San Carlos, CA)

      Entrevista

Had a number of phone interviews and was invited for an on-site. On-site was for 3 hours, consisted of two video calls and three in-person interviews. Interviews were pretty “casual” and the people just wanted to “have a conversation.” I thought the discussions went well and that I connected with the interviewers. One week goes by, no contact from the company. I ping the recruiter, he says he’ll let me know when he gets feedback from the team. Two more weeks pass, no contact from the company. Company background preparation: I’ve been wondering what type of company Bluescape is, and did some research for the interview. I originally thought it was a startup, but was wondering why they have been languishing and not growing like other companies like Zoom or Ringcentral that are in somewhat similar spaces? It turns out that they are a private company, started and owned by Haworth, a large private office furniture reseller, as a way to bring “new technology” into the business (think office wall of digital displays for signage/content). They’ve managed to gain some traction in enterprise markets that utilize large amounts of visual data, such as surveillance and entertainment. They’re trying to take the existing hodge-podge system and build it into a more architected platform, and have also hired a bunch of old-timer managers and engineers from Blackberry to help grow it.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

Primary focus was questions about activities on my resume and to provide additional details/color. One behavioral type question, describe a situation that didn't go well... what would you do different next time?
