Spoke to the HR recruiter which was very pleasant. When I mentioned my range for an average data engineer salary, she pushed back a little which was disappointing.
I was then given a take home coding assessment. I'd say the assessment was pretty easy/straightforward but I messed up the last question because I got distracted. The recruiter later sent me an email that I was not moving forward.
I was surprised, however, that the coding questions were focused around data structures for a data engineer role as opposed to more job specific challenges. Just seemed a lazy / inefficient way to assess a candidate's skills.
