I had an initial call with the recruiter, then a phone screen with 2 hiring managers, and then an onsite interview.
The phone part of this was all fine with a few technical questions and questions about my resume. This part was actually really good.
The on site was the worst experience I have ever been through besides the travel booking which was really easy and seamless. First, they do not provide you an agenda for the day so you don't know who you are meeting, what their title is, how long they have been in the company and what they do. I didn't even catch the names of most people. After the presentation, I met with one person before going to lunch with a few group members. After lunch, it was 30 mins per person of 100% technical questions with no time for me to ask questions. They didn't care what questions I had, it was all about them. The questions were difficult but yet somewhat basic, 100% undergrad which for anyone with experience is a little strange, especially considering no one I met with had more than a few years of experience. What was upsetting and annoying is that it was like being on jeopardy, it was just question after question after question and then a new person would come in. Interviews aren't supposed to be like this and you can't assess a candidate based on what they asked and how they asked it.
Blue kind of acts like a tech company but with none of the perks of a tech company (benefits, free food, etc). They are really arrogant and act like their interview process is amazing and well thought out but it's really just a poorly defined method of trying to screen people. I think their method only works for people right out of college and considering their age demographic, that's what they get.
At the end of the day, it was really clear to me that Blue was not a place I had any interest in whatsoever and not a place I would recommend to anyone I liked with any type of experience that isn't in rockets.
