      Solicitud

Solicité el puesto en persona. El proceso duró 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Blue Apron (New York, NY) en dic 2016

      Entrevista

In the end, I decided it was best to cancel my last interview an withdraw my candidacy. Here is why: Started with a phone interview with an HR recruiter. Next, I had a second interview with the person who would have been my direct supervisor. That person asked questions that focused on current challenges. Many of the questions/problems discussed seemed to be very easy to solve, so I was surprised that there was an ongoing struggle to resolve. Next, I was invited to visit their SoHo office. This interview was supposed to be an hour to 90 mins, but they kept me for over four hours. During this time I met with many people, who had little or nothing to do with the position that I was applying too. The people who were directly involved, seemed to be in a rush to pawn me off to the next person. There was a period when I spent 20-30 mins sitting in a conference room alone. After meeting with many different people, I was directed to meet with the HR recruiter that I had originally spoke with during my first phone interview. The recruiter proceeded to ask me to give a review on each individual, with who I met. This was a complete waste of time. Did they expect me, the person who at the time wanted to work there, to give anyone a poor review? Obviously, I had no choice but to keep it positive, despite the fact that I did have a negative experience. I had read review on Glassdoor about the lack of work-life balance at Blue Apron. I asked everyone I met with (some of them more than once) to elaborate on the work-life balance at Blue Apron. They all responded with "well we get unlimited vacation," which does not answer the question. Furthtemore, everyone that I met with casually discussed how they usually work 10-13 hours per day, sometimes six or sever days per week. Also- during my on-campus interview, I had to Skype with a Blue Apron employee who was currently on vacation on the other side of the world. So if there truly is work-life balance, why do people work 10-13 hours per day, sometimes seven days a week, and why are people even asked to work while using their "unlimited vacation days?" Blue Apron wanted to bring me in for a final presentation, which was supposed to happen at my onsite interview, but didn't causing my process to be extended nearly a month. Given all the negative factors, I decided to cancel my final interview and withdraw my candidacy.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

It's been a few months, I do not recall specific questions, but I can say the were either not challenging, or totally unrelated to the position. For example, I was asked to privately meet with a product, who proceeded to quiz me on product design, theory and practices.
