I applied online through the Bloomberg career website. A week later I received an invitation via email for a phone interview. The phone interview was brief (15 minutes) and it included the standard questions: 1. Why Bloomberg? 2. What do you know about Bloomberg? Customers? Competitors? etc. 3. Why Financial Product Sales and Analytics? 4. What are the key skills required to perform well in this position?etc. After passing this interview, I was invited to their London office for an assessment day along with 15 or so other candidates. There was a tour, shadowing, and 2:1 interview. The interview was mostly competency questions, but they will also ask technical questions especially if you talk about them or they are listed on your CV. I previously worked as an analyst at a small hedge fund and I think that my stumbling block was when they asked me Why work at Bloomberg and not in finance/IBanking? It seems that the lifestyle explanation wasn't enough for them. Know that answer well if you have finance background.
