I was recruited by a company recruiter for a new Director role they were creating to help build out a new market for their Bloom Energy boxes. I did four interviews which which were pretty informal and got along well with the people I interacted with. After the fourth interview the recruiter called me to tell me that they'd be making a final offer. I then got an email asking me to do another interview, and this interviewer clearly did not know anything about the role or the team and was generally unprepared for the interview. He even asked me clarifying questions about the terminology in the role description. After completing this fifth interview, I never heard back from the recruiter or HR despite them making a verbal offer. Very unprofessional experience.
