I had my initial phone screen with the hiring manager. I thought we hit it off and I was excited about the role. She sent me a writing exercise which I was supposed to spend 2 hours on. I submitted my work and then 2 weeks went by where I heard nothing. I viewed the hiring manager's LinkedIn profile which must have reminded her that she should have gotten back to me. I received a generic, one sentence email saying they had decided to move forward with other candidates. I was very disappointed I wasn't provided more feedback or a prompter response after the time I spent on their writing test.
