I submitted my application both through LinkedIn and sent a direct message to the recruiter. After a few weeks, the recruiter got in touch with me and conducted a 30-minute phone conversation to discuss my background. Following this initial conversation, I was informed that the recruiter would meet with the hiring manager to decide whether to proceed with my application. As promised, the recruiter reached out a few days later and asked me to complete an assessment as the next step in the process. The assessment proved to be quite intricate, comprising eight sections that demanded a deep understanding of programming and coding in JavaScript, as if I were applying for a Software Engineer role. It took me over an hour to complete, and I found it to be quite challenging. It seemed to me that the assessment was designed to filter out candidates who might not be well-prepared for the role. I was left somewhat uneasy because I didn't have an in-depth knowledge of their brands to feel entirely confident. Subsequently, I was informed that the hiring manager would review my submission and get back to me. While I did my best, I couldn't help but feel that it's somewhat unrealistic to expect candidates to have a comprehensive understanding of their brands to answer multiple detailed questions. Additionally, I should note that the assessment didn't seem to align with the job description in terms of requirements, and the budget for the position appeared to be below market standards. This experience left me with the impression that they might be more in need of an Engineer for the role rather than an Implementation Consultant. It would be beneficial for them to align the role more closely with the job requirements and market compensation standards.
