The process was lengthy, with a handful of remote interviews over a couple of weeks.
The process concluded with an onsite "case" interview which required extensive preparation.
I thought it was a tough interview process but I can see the benefit to Backbase in weeding out less than serious applicants.

I applied online from a listing I saw on LinkedIn, but prior to applying I went to the Backbase website to confirm the role was listed as sometimes that’s not the case. Researched the company a bit to see if made sense for me to apply. After applying I received a notification they received my application and that they were reviewing it. About 3-4 days later I got a direct response from HR they wanted to have an introduction call to explain who Backbase was, and to further explore my qualifications and desires in a new employer. Once an agreed time was set, we talked forr about 45 minutes. The conversation started with HR person giving a very well thought out and practiced overview of the company answering a lot of my initial questions. Introductions I have received in 30 years. After the overview, we had a very candid and open back and forth conversation about the role, company, culture etc. About a week later I received a note that they were still discussing my candidacy and would be back in touch soon. A couple

Mostly experience questions, however personal questions trying to gain what type of person I was and what I believed in as far as leadership style, what drives me, what I want in a culture at a company. Very thorough overview of the company at the beginning of the conversation and always felt like I could ask a question at any time.

The interview process was well planned out, expectations were clear and communication was excellent. The recruiter was extremely supportive as I moved through the rounds. The decision was communicated quickly beyond the last round, no wait and see.
