Entrevista
Very disappointing recruiting experience. I hope my experience is not the standard BAE Systems uses for their overall recruitment process. Submitted online job application on 3rd week of Mar-23. Received a call from their recruitment team after couple of weeks. Although maximum salary offered was about 20% less than industry standard, I agreed to go through the recruitment process. Did not hear anything for about 4 weeks and then after couple of reschedules, I had my interview on 23-May-23. Only positive of this entire recruitment process was that they only arranged 1 interview which lasted for 1.5 hours. Received a call from the recruiter advising that I should expect a feedback within a week. I did not hear anything for 5 weeks despite sending 2 emails asking for feedback. Then on 29-Jun-23 out of the blue the recruiter called and offered me the role and completely ignored my question when I asked about the delay. I was told that BAE would initiate my SC clearance process, which can take quite a long time, however I should receive all documents within 2-3 weeks. Over the next 3 months, I received 5-6 emails from different people introducing them as my onboarding support contacts. In every email they told me that they are trying really hard to provide me with my documents and they are in the process of initiating background check process. Although after 2 months from offering me the job my SC clearance process did start, however I never actually received my offer letter or the contract and finally on 21-Sep-23 I rejected the offer (4 months from the actual interview). And really disappointing part is, nobody from BAE even bothered to send even an email since then. I am sharing my experience here not to point finger at anyone. I hope someone from BAE will read my experience and make sure that other candidates do not go through the same frustration in the future. I take pride in British manufacturing and genuinely hope BAE will care about the people as well.
