      My phone screen was terrible. The interviewer was extremely unprofessional and rude, and seemed to resent having to conduct the interview. He jumped right into the question, and basically ignored my attempts to talk through it with him. I'm pretty confident he was not paying attention and browsing the internet. The phone screen was conducted in an online co-operative Javascript editor. I never heard back from them.

      A recruiter connects me. The phone interview was great, so I feel this would be a great team to join in, however, after the phone interview. There is a coding assignment, and I spent a few hours to finish. First, the Zenhub team disrespects the interviewer and themselves for no response of the submit after almost two weeks with my checking email even if they held the word 'will get back to you later THIS week.' It would be reasonable not to get back for a normal interviewing process, but for a coding challenge, which is worth more than 1000 dollars under my current rate, it is unacceptable for no feedback. Second, I finally got feedback from the recruiter, say, I am a NO with my skillset. It does not make sense since I built some services now under using by 160 million users and some others for data streaming of a few thousand records each second with my skillset. Now they told the recruiter I am a NO for it. So, thinking about it, for both their culture and technics, and choose wisely.

      I enjoyed the interview process at Axiom Zen very much - I felt that it both allowed me to demonstrate my skills, abilities, and fit for the position well, and it also gave me a great indication of the culture at the office. After applying, I was contacted and asked to do a quick phone screen. This was largely behavioural and I was asked a lot about what my goals and interests are. I come from an unconventional background, and was reassured that wasn't a problem. I felt like they were very attentive in looking for candidates that would be a good fit for the role, both technically and culturally, and both in the short and long term. I was then asked to do a coding challenge. They allowed me to use any libraries/frameworks that I wished; I was not required to use the front-end framework they use. I was asked to create a simple web application. The process took about 4-6 hours in total, and the requirements for the application were very reasonable. They reviewed very quickly - I heard back from them the following day. The next step was a live coding challenge. Since I was interviewing remotely, they were accommodating enough to allow me to do this over Google Hangouts. I worked with two team members to create a simple web application. I thought this was unique and a lot of fun - it gave me an idea of what working on their team would actually be like, and allowed me to demonstrate how I would work on a team. The team members I worked with were patient and easy-going. This took 2-3 hours, and was followed with a quick chat with the CEO. They asked for my references the same day, and followed up with a verbal offer the following business day. A written offer was sent the next day. The process was quick, and they communicated with me during all of it. I had other offers as well, and they were extremely accommodating with expediting the timeline of my hiring process.
