Had a standard phone screen, discussed previous work experience, current computer vision projects, schoolwork (I'm currently in an M.S. program), etc. The actual interview was fine.
Towards the end of the interview, the interviewer mentioned that the salary for the position started at 65,000/yr, and they were not open to offering any equity in the company.
Now, I'm not exactly sure what they're thinking - the listing for the position required a master's degree, and they clearly wanted someone who's familiar with computer vision. 65,000/year is about half the normal salary for such a position.
I wish the company good luck with their financial situation, but future interviewees beware - they're asking for a highly skilled candidate and are offering ridiculously below market.
