I was invited to apply for a position by a friend. I met with Commercial Manager on three occasions. We discussed the general process of controlling cost on projects, protecting and maximizing revenue, management of risk, the organization project managers, and financial reporting. A centralised HR department contacted me with the offer. It was remote and impersonal. Once on board, the internal HR department reacted quickly and were very supportive. The management team were not prepared for my arrival. It took too long to get myself imbedded and adding value.
