First I had a phone interview and then a one on one interview. The questions asked were relevant to the position and they made sure I knew they had read my entire resume. They asked me to describe myself, what I am about, the reason for separating from previous job, what do I see myself doing in the future, career goals, etc. The phone interviewer was extremely professional and made the process very easy and comfortable. I was provided with a very thorough job description and I was extremely excited to work for this company. Both interviewers made me feel like I was the perfect candidate for the job. What I did not like, was that, at first, I was told that my salary requirement was acceptable. Then, in the final interview I was told that they could only pay me $8,000 dollars less. I would not have gone to the interview if I had known this. It is a fantastic company to work for, but not for that amount of money. When I asked about the change of mind, the final interviewer explained that it was my way of proving to the company that I was loyal and that I had to "keep in mind that I wasn't laying bricks under the sun". Wow! I felt very patronized by this statement. Afterwards, this person explained the excellent benefits. When I asked about paid leave (vacation time and sick leave), I was asked "why I would want to take vacation time?". I explained that after, maybe, a year I would like to take time off to visit my friends and family and the interviewer just looked at me like I was from another planet. The interviewer explained he/she had not taken any leave since he/she started with the company. The whole process just turned very sour towards the end. It must have shown that I was very uncomfortable because I never received a call back even though I was the "perfect candidate".
