I didn't make it to the interview stage, but wish to leave a review about ARM's poor recruitment process as experienced by myself in May 2017. I contacted the recruiter by LinkedIn as I saw her post about this vacancy and was interested to hear more.
Her communication skills on LinkedIn are very poor, I found her replies to my messages slow and full of inappropriate use of punctuation marks (using several exclamation or question marks when replying to a candidate really doesn't fill you with confidence).
She agreed to a chat over the phone to tell me more about the role, followed by me sending my application through their website. The website itself isn't user friendly, I work in technology and found it appalling that a technology company like ARM can't even get this right. It wasn't clear where to click to move on to the next stage and where to submit the application. So much, that I had to start my application again after unsuccessfully uploading CV and cover letter. Very frustrating.
I contacted the recruiter the next day to confirm I had applied, and received no acknowledgment. I didn't panic at this stage, but contacted her again as a follow-up after a week of no news or reply. Again, my message was ignored. I followed up a third and last time, after which I finally received a reply stating she thought she had replied already but the message hadn't sent (!?) and she half-confirmed I hadn't been successful in getting an interview. I'm stating "half-confirmed", because her reply was ambiguous, it stated that ARM already shortlisted another candidate for this role and were in the process of interviewing.... Why then waste my time like this? Let's say that I didn't bother replying to this vague reply, didn't ask for feedback again (I had asked and she didn't provide it) and won't ever apply for any ARM vacancy in the future. A very, very poor experience, considering my application and CV matched almost word for word the skills and experience they required for this role and I felt an interview would have been appropriate.
