I found the posting on Monster and decided, hey...why not? Apple is one of my favorite companies and an 'at home' position was simply a stellar idea for me. Within a couple of days of applying, I was sent a link to fill out additional information regarding basic personality traits. It was pretty up front, very easy questions...just basic common sense actually. Within a few days after that, they sent me a link to set up a phone interview. I had my first interview with a really great agent, she was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. Her questions weren't tech related, but more so about fitting in with Apple and customer service as a whole. She then sent me a link to set up my next interview.
The next interview was awesome as well. Fairly short and painless, still more questions based on customer service and personality. We ended up hitting it off very well as well. After that, I had my final phone interview with a really nice Supervisor. He asked some tech questions, like "what kind of computer do I have now and what are the specs", "a customer calls in and has issues with email, the email won't connect, what do you do?", "how would you troubleshoot an Apple product?" Now for that one, I have Macs and iPods, but I've never had any problems with them, but I'm a constant 'geek' so I'm always on Apple's site....they have one of the most intensive and awesome support sites I've ever seen, so I suggested starting there with troubleshooting any Apple equipment. That seemed to go over VERY well.
Apple is very very very customer oriented, wanting to focus on customer satisfaction while enabling agents to enjoy their job tasks. After that interview, I was sent a link to fill out authorization for a background check. Within 3 days I was contacted by the agency doing the background check saying they completed the check, and then that night I was contacted by the hiring agent (which happened to be the 1st person I interviewed with) and she offered me the job. I was given an EXCELLENT pay rate and a very workable training start date. They explained all of the benefits, as well as working schedules and training opportunities as well as advancement potential. I'm super excited to start this adventure with Apple!
