I submitted an application online, and it took me 11 months to get a call back. At first, I thought it was a prank from my friends - I had forgotten I had applied. I was invited to a hiring seminar, where about 35 other candidates and I were brought together to see how we interacted, and what type of personalities we had. After that, I was invited to a panel interview in a hotel meeting room, where I met with store managers, and other veteran employees. After that, a phone interview with the DM and I was good to go! Everything was really laid back, and comfortable. Communication was great the whole time (after I got the initial call back). Management brags that it is harder to get a job at Apple than it is to get into Harvard. But the environment throughout the interview process wasn't like that at all.
