While I understand that finding the best person for a job is essential and a candidate that has previously worked with the company has an advantage. You dont mess people around like this. I had seen previous examples of this on glassdoor and didnt put much weight behind them. I was wrong. Personaly, I would have preferred the interview was kept, even if it lead to nothing.
