      Entrevista

Interviewed last month for this position. I applied directly and exceeded the education and experience required for this role, but I was willing to make a change and accept a lower position. Most of the conversation focused on my leadership skills, management style, etc. After focusing on this for practically the entire interview I was politely interrupted and asked “why did I even bother to apply for this job.” Seriously! I was prescreened by their internal recruiter and this panel was given my resume months prior, yet they still chose to interview me and ask this ridiculous question. And this was after rescheduling my interview 4 times! From initial phone screen to panel interview was months! Their questioning solely focused on my management experience and they asked practically nothing related to the role. And when I asked the panel questions all I received was cookie-cutter answers and a staunch effort to avoid the harder ones. I’ve been around this industry a long time and can spot nonsense and corporate rhetoric a mile away. Any candidate with my background is going to ask culture and leadership questions to get a pulse for the company environment before jumping aboard. The stalling, wondering eyes and repeated (saying to another) "you wanna field this one," it was far too obvious that they were not prepared for any questions. Any seasoned professionals like myself can pick up when people are stalling or just giving the company playbook answers. Companies want candidates to be prepared than prepare yourselves for seasoned professionals that ask poignant questions. I’ve been on both sides of the table and this was rather insulting. They look disinterested before we even got started with the interview. And these folks would have been my superiors. Not impressed was an understatement!
